PROTOCOL FOR MEETING FOR WORSHIP (Zoom, hybrid, in-person)

Please maintain silence as you enter the Zoom meeting or the meetinghouse so Friends can center and settle into worship.

Our current COVID-19 safety measures for the meetinghouse are as follows:

  • Masks are optional. Feel free to wear one if you wish. We have a supply if you’ve forgotten yours.
  • If you have a fever or are feeling unwell, please stay home and join our worship on Zoom.

CALLING ALL GMM BAKERS! COOKIES FOR DICK TAYLOR’S MEMORIAL!

The Funeral Arrangements Committee is asking the Germantown Meeting family once again to be generous with their time and baking skills – this time for the reception following Dick Taylor’s memorial service on Saturday, December 14th.

Welcoming cookies and brownies; only foods that can be nibbled with one hand.

Please label the container if you bring a special delicacy (e.g. gluten free, nut free, dairy free, etc).

When?      Saturday, December 14th -- drop off 11:30am - 1:30pm * (memorial begins at 1:30)

ANTI-RACISM DISCUSSION GROUP MEETING THIS WEEK on Zoom

When?   Tuesday, December 17 at 7:00pm, via Zoom

The next Meeting of the Anti-Racism discussion group will finish discussing the book, The White Bonus, and we will look at the various ways people have found and are finding to be a force for resistance to the Trump Administration and its plans to turn back progress in race relations, individual rights, climate progress, and more. SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE FOR CHILDREN IN FRIENDS SCHOOLS

Deadline:  Monday, January 27, 2025

Germantown Monthly Meeting members who have children in Friends Schools may apply for tuition assistance from the Meeting for the 2025-2026 school year.  Applications should be completed and returned to Faye Steacy, clerk of the Scholarship Committee, by Monday, January 27. Please send these to Faye through the U.S. Mail.  Find her contact information in the Meeting Directory or through the Meeting Office at 215-951-2235 or gmm@germantownfriends.org.

Bring your favorite dish(es) to share as we enjoy a festive potluck meal together by candlelight, and then sing Christmas carols with Caroline Davidson at the piano. All are welcome!

Where?  John Woolman Memorial; 99 Branch St. in Mount Holly, NJ

John Woolman was an 18th century Quaker from Mt. Holly, NJ, who is best known for his spiritual and political anti-slavery beliefs and actions. His journal is still widely read. The house will be decorated for the holidays and tours will be available. The director, Charles Bruder, will be on hand to share information about the property and the life and writings of John Woolman.
